Comparison of low troponin I results in a commutable EQA program

The RCPAQAP provides a Liquid Serum Chemistry Program sourced from consenting male and female haemochromatosis patients presenting for therapeutic venesection. We sought review performance at low levels across 10 instruments five vendors, four Roche instruments. Results: Instrument medians sample ranged 2 6 ng/L, with an all-result of 3ng/L (n=151). 11ng/L, 4ng/L all samples same T: 6ng/L (n=39), only varied +/-1ng/L platforms. Discussion: While this study is limited, it does demonstrate comparable major vendors. Differences decision points currently use may warrant as recent studies on troponin potentially change clinical management.
